CONNECTIONS

PARADE HOSPITALITY: We would like to host a hospitality table with free drinks at Bagelfest parade. Would you be willing to help us open our facility for either of these parades?

BAPTISM: If you are interested in baptism, please talk with Pastor Brian. We will be scheduling an August date at Sullivan Beach very soon. Please plan on coming to this event, which will be followed with a dinner.

DINNER AT BRIAN AND DANELLE’S HOUSE: All of the July Dinners are full!! The response has been overwhelming!! Thank you! In August, you are welcome to sign up for Friday, August 3 (Spaghetti), Saturday, August 4 (Ham), Monday, August 6 (Hamburgers/Hotdogs), or Saturday, August 25 (Pork Chops). Please sign up or give us a call to let us know what date would work best for your family. Brian and Danelle will provide the main course (which is different each meal) and ask that you would bring a side dish. All meals start at 6PM. We hope you will bring your entire family. We are limiting each dinner to a maximum of twelve people, not including us.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: There are currently two houses being built in Charleston. If you are interested in helping with the “builds,” they are working every Saturday. We can help you make the connection. Also they are planning their annual Habifeast, a fundraising event meant to inform the community about Habitat. If you are interested in helping with Habifeast, let Pastor Brian know.

NEW LIFE FOR HAITI FUND-RAISING BANQUET: On October 12 (Fri) at 6PM, we will host our first annual New Life for Haiti Fund-Raising Banquet at the Walkway at 1501 Lakeland Blvd in Mattoon. It is no secret that it costs money to work in Haiti. Within the next two years, we plan to build a school, a medical clinic, and a base of operations near Marfranc. We just purchased a work truck to transport supplies and people to our work site. We will need a lot of behind the scenes help in planning this banquet. If you are interested in helping, talk to Michelle Donnell.

HAITI MISSION TRIP: The first work team will start building the school in Marfranc, the Haitian village that has become the center of our focus-area September 23-October 1. The second team will work November 11-19. Team members will meet in Miami that Sunday evening, then fly into Haiti on Monday (and back home on the following Monday). You need a passport, which can a couple of months to get, and you need some vaccinations. Application can be made online at www.newlifeforhaiti.org.

PADS (our local homeless shelter) is looking for volunteers in the evening. If you are interested, contact Nathaniel West.
