Sermon Download - Tough Questions - March 30, 2008

Pastor Brian asks the congregation to write down their "Tough Questions," and he attempts to give answers to these questions every couple of months.

Here are the tough questions: (These are exactly as they were asked.)
1. Which is more important --- Knowing Jesus or Knowing of Jesus?
2. Do You Believe in Once Saved/Always Saved?
3. If a Christian Takes Their Own Life, Do They Still Go To Heaven?
4. What Does The Bible of The Crossover say about the need to be "Born Again"?
5. When someone talks about lice, our heads began to itch. We don't have lice, but we feel like we do. How is feeling God any different?

Sermons Online - You can now download past Crossover sermons online at www.thecrossover.org.

Offering – We don’t “pass a plate” at The Crossover, but we do take an offering in the box by the door. All of our ministries are financed from this one source. We would appreciate your help.

Kids Church/Nursery - We need a volunteer to be the lead teacher in Kids Church once a month. The material is provided, and we already have an adult assistant, as well as a teenage helper. We would also like to start offering Nursery on a weekly basis. If you are willing to help in the nursery once per month, let Pastor Brian know. Thanks!

Paint Stage and PVC Pipe - If anyone is interested in painting the stage and/or the exposed PVC pipe on the KidStuf stage curtains, talk to Pastor Brian.

The Church Has Left the Building – In late June, we will join a few other churches, including First Assembly of God and Salisbury, in making an impact on our community over one weekend. We are looking at doing some car care at West Park Plaza and East Rudy. Some house clean-up as per the city's nuisance overseer, some grocery bag packing, some windshield cleaning at service stations, Aluminum can collection, and a blood drive likely the Sunday before. If you would be interested in helping to plan some of these events, please let Pastor Brian know.

TLC SCHOLARSHIP: The Crossover is starting a scholarship this year for a TLC graduate to attend Lakeland College. We hope to collect $4000 by April. We currently have collected a little over $1500. If you would like to help financially, mark your financial gift for TLC Scholarship.

Habitat For Humanity Support Family - Habitat is looking for a family that would be willing to come alongside a new Habitat Home owner and help them through the decision processes and then support them for one year after they get a new home. Contact Pastor Brian if interested.

Upcoming Haiti Trips: Trips can handle up to eight people. July 14-21 trip has 4 open spots. We are planning on scheduling a “Crossover” trip in the fall. If you are interested, let Pastor Brian or Michelle Donnell know.

Free Home Repair: Next summer, June 22-28, 2008, a Christian youth workcamp is coming to Mattoon and will repair homes at no cost to the owner. If you own your own home or know someone who does and need repairs, please fill out an application on the back table.
