In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. – Daniel 2:44

September 6 (Sun) – 11:30AM – Carry-in Lunch. We’ll provide the meat, drinks, and tableware.

Youth Group Kickoff Party is an excellent way to invite friends to youth groups. There will be food and games and fun on Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30PM! We have two youth groups. One is Kindergarten to 7th grade. The other is 8th grade through High School. See Nikki, Rick, Tim, Tammy, or Danelle for details.

Weed Our Parking Lot – The weeds got sprayed. Now they need spade. Pull them weeds!

Nursery & Kid's Church – As we start a new school year, this is a reminder that Nursery is for kids ages 0 to 4, and Kid's Church is for Kindergarten through 4th grade. Children older than 4 are not to be in the nursery, and children older than 4th grade are not to be in Kid's Church. If older kids would like to be an assistant in Kid's Church or Nursery and can be well behaved and a good help, they should tell Pastor Brian.

Tough Question Sunday – August 30th can only be as good as the questions you provide. Please fill out a Tough Question card with anything you would like an answer to and we’ll do our best to help you get a handle on it. Place the card in the offering box or give it to Pastor Brian. This is a great Sunday to invite friends. People enjoy this format of preaching.

10th Anniversary – In February, our church will celebrate her 10th anniversary. The elders of the church have proposed that we do a community service project to mark this milestone. If you have any ideas for a project, let one of the elders (Randy, Michelle, and Marlyn) know.

Low Offering – The offerings in June and July were lower than our expenditures. If you could help us in August to increase our offerings to meet our monthly budget, we would greatly appreciate it! If offerings don't pick up soon, we will have to make some budget cuts.

Home Groups will start back up in September. Each group will meet 7 times before Christmas. The groups hang out together, pray together, discuss Sunday's sermon, and usually have a snack. We'll give you specific options in the next few weeks.

Sermon from Journal Gazette Article

On Friday, August 14, 2009, my article in the Times Courier/Journal Gazette was based on a sermon I preached about a year ago titled -- Romans 13 - How to Put Prayer Back in Schools. It may not be what you think. Here are the three sermons I preached that month if you'd care to listen to them.

If you right click on the sermon, then click "Save Target As", you can save the MP3 to your computer.
