COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE: On November 18 at 6 pm at Central Community Church, Pastor Brian will be speaking at the annual community Thanksgiving Service.

TLC SCHOLARSHIP: The Crossover would like to start a scholarship this year for a TLC graduate to attend Lakeland College. A planning meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 4 @ 7PM.

NEW LIFE FOR HAITI PLANNING MEETING: Every Friday in October, we will meet at Common Grounds at 8:30AM to plan the New Life for Haiti Banquet on January 12, 2008 at the Walkway in Mattoon. If you cannot attend these meetings, but would like to help, let Michelle Donnell know.

FRIDAY WORSHIP: We are starting a Friday night group that will worship, pray, and enjoy being together. This isn’t a replacement to Sunday morning, but an additional opportunity. Talk with Pastor Brian or Tom Schuck if you are interested.

NURSING HOME WORSHIP: On the 1st and 4th Sundays at 2PM, The Crossover is providing a worship service at Douglas Nursing Home, west on Dewitt, across from the Southern Baptist Church. If you would be willing to help, let Tom Schuck or Brian Miller know. We need people who can smile and shake hands. That makes all the difference for the residents.

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. - Ephesians 4:1

Trip to Marfranc, Haiti

Jeff Gates and I (Pastor Brian) spent last week in Marfranc, Haiti. Through New Life for Haiti, we are partnering with a Haitian church in Marfranc to develop their community. This trip was spent working on finishing a Primary School building for the church. We worked side by side with the Haitians. They provided some labor, food, and even a little money.

I had the privilege of preaching Sunday morning. It was a really great experience for me. In the pictures, you see Jeff Gates and his new little buddy Widle (Weed-lay). We had to double check Jeff's bags to make sure their wasn't a Widle shaped object in any of them. You want to bring them home with you.

And in the other, a picture of me and Pastor Plasir.
